Licensed waste collection companies
Passenger vessels in the Antwerp City Port and at the Scheldt Quays City zone use licensed waste collection companies, which come to collect the waste at their berth The waste must be removed immediately. Storage on the quay is not allowed.
Commercial vessels use the facilities at the Port of Antwerp Bruges commercial port and pleasure craft use the facilities at the marina.
Disposal of grey and/or black wastewater
The disposal of grey and/or black wastewater is also possible. This can only be collected from ship to ship by licensed waste collectors.
For pleasure boats, the Antwerp Willemdok Marina has facilities to collect grey wastewater from yachts, in order to keep the water quality as optimal as possible. This does not apply to bilge water: for this, you need to contact one of the licensed specialist companies.
Licensed waste collection companies
A licensed waste collector has a permit from the OVAM (the Public Waste Agency of Flanders) and meets the conditions of the Harbour Master's Office of Port of Antwerp Bruges. A list of approved companies can be found on their website.
