There are specific police regulations for the City Port area. The regulations provide a framework for berth management. They allow monitoring and enforcement to be carried out on the bodies of water.
The police regulations for the City Port area establish the rules for the use of the bodies of water on the Eilandje. The regulations govern matters such as occupying berths, maintaining public peace and safety and limiting damage to the environment and public property.
Following the Antwerp City Port plan 2020-2030 (on the uses that can be made of the bodies of water and quaysides), a new regulatory framework for commercial city tours, the allocation of commercial berths and the use of dinghys was put in place in 2021. These Police regulations for the City Port area took effect on 2 May 2021.
